In September 2007 Golf Balkan was awarded the contract to construct the 18 hole championship golf course for the Pravets Golf and Country Club project near the town of Pravets, 55 km north-east of Sofia. Construction of this Harradine Golf designed championship golf course began on the 15th of October. Due to the very wet winter and the very high ground water table Golf Balkan was very limited to what works could be done over this period.

Construction started in full swing in March 2008, once the site conditions had improved. Drainage ditches that had been dug before the winter insured that the site dried out quickly so that work could begin as soon as possible. All the topsoil was then stripped and stored for later use.

The majority of the bulk earthworks have already been completed and the shaping of the golf course by Golf Balkan's international class shapers is nearing completion. The main drainage works are also close to be completed. The installation of the state of the art RainBird irrigation is in progress with approximately 9 holes completed. The sand capping material for the areas of maintained turf has already been installed on 9 of the holes, Golf Balkan has started the fine finishing and seeding works.

The floodlighting for the driving range has been installed. This will allow players to practice at night on the driving range and practice greens, which will be a first for Bulgaria.
